We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but preferred to wander out & find breakfast. Our room was spacious for 3 with lovely sea views. Location was great for proximity to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the bike hire facility from the hotel - cycled into Palma for the day which was brilliant.

Amazing island with breathtaking beaches. As a Greek I am used to perfect beaches so if this is coming from me you can take my word as a guarantee! Well preserved road network, very important in the case that you decide to rent a car (best way to explore and enjoy this gem of an island) as you will feel instantly safe to drive. A must visit and only half an hour away from Barcelona by plane (don't come close to lose your flight back, Mallorca has a huge airport-I learnt that the hard way).

A big, big surprise for me.
A big, big surprise for me. I admit I hadn't made much of a research, and with the population just two-third of Malaga's, I expected a nice seaside town with beautiful yet small historic center. Instead, it's a city with imperial grandeur, vast pedestrian zones, incredible greenery and beautiful works of art in public space. And the cathedral is a monumental gem. Must return one day.

We loved our stay in Palma!
We loved our stay in Palma!
Of course, the blue sky and sunshine were a factor, but the tree lined streets, narrow alleyways and historic architecture would be attractive all year round!
We found people friendly and helpful.
We were spoiled for choice for eating venues.
We went back twice to El Apendre, not far from our hotel, as my husband said they cooked steak (over a fire) better than anywhere he's been!
In Palma, there were fewer bar and restaurant staff who were confident in speaking English than I'd expected and it was worth taking our Spanish dictionary/phrase book!

Loved the quirkyness of the old town and all the cobble streets. Lots of places to stop for drinks & tapas and lots of nice bakeries too. Thought food & drink all reasonably priced.
Expected the Marina and promenade area to be more sophisticated and ambient than it was, but did see some amazing yachts!
The cathedral is amazing to see.

Bustling city but away from the majority of the hen/stag party groups. Plenty of historical and cultural places to visit. Maybe not somewhere that younger children would find interesting. Wide selection of bars and restaurants. Plenty of up-market shops if that's your thing. Cathedral and Royal Palace well worth visiting. The Arab Baths is also a little corner of tranquillity. Easy place to get round on foot to the major attractions. Soller train makes for a picturesque change to the city - but either book ahead or get to the station at opening to buy tickets

The beaches, the sea, the food and the people are on top.
The beaches, the sea, the food and the people are on top. The Cathedral and the main square around it are impressive, rich and elegant. Some other central streets are similar to la Rambla in Barcelona. Except for these main sites, the city of Palma surprised me with many shabby buildings. But overall it's a great location for the holiday in May or perhaps in autumn when it's not yet so hot.

The most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. So aesthetic and comfy. We stayed during the winter, so they had the cutest Christmas decorations. The hotel is like a Harry Potter movie: majestic and mysterious. We booked the rooftop room with the jacuzzi. I can only imagine how amazing it must be in warmer times. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The location is at its best. Everywhere you go is reachable by foot, with the most stunning view at the Cathedral. Also, a lot of other monumental things are near by.
The place was in a really good spot and right on the beach .
They fed you adequately, but you know it is like hotel buffet food . That being said, there was really a great effort to provide a huge variety and you won’t go hungry for sure ! The staff was also really really great. The dining room staff were so on top of it and friendly and really worked hard . I read reviews about the cleaning staff not being on top of it but that must have been amended because these ladies were definitely on top of it .
This place is just extraordinary. The staff makes you feel so welcome and they are beyond with helping you with everything you may need. The story of this place and how they renovated it is just mesmerizing. You can feel the atmosphere of monastery and it really seems so soothing. It is an oasis of peace right in the city center among the best restaurants. I can't even tell what was better - the place or the approach of its staff. Thank you for an amazing experience.
The building was well located in the old town, down a nice cobbled quiet street. The hotel is a nice mix of old and new, with lovely decor throughout. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The heating was good and the room was cleaned well each day. The breakfast was great, staff were brilliant, and it had a great boutique feel due to the number of rooms. Would love to visit in the summer to use the pool.
Do not let the exterior or the understated hotel entry deceive you. This hotel is luxurious, well appointed with attentive and gracious staff and hosts. Jacoba, Thomas and Ana made every attempt to ensure that our trip to Mallorca was an excellent one. The rooftop pool and restaurant/bar are amazing, along with an incredible spa. We cannot thank all of the staff enough for catering to our every need. We shall return.
The HM Balanguera hotel is nice but wasn’t a four stars hotel for us. It’s an intimate boutique style hotel, graciously done. The staff was friendly and helpful, hiring the bikes from the hotel is one of the best things we did, but you need to book in advance, they have only four. The roof terrace with a small pool is very nice but it is a tiny space, sometimes it could be too busy, just enough for five rooms or so.
This hotel might not be located in the top location of Palma, but it gives a good opportunity to find yourself in good distance between the old town and the best nearby beach of Cala Maior. The building itself seen from the outside takes you back to the 80's but the interior is very nice and the rooms are big and modern
The location of the hotel was exellent, close to the city center and old town and nice views to the ocean and harbour. We also walked to the beach of Cala Major from the hotel, beach was amazing and the walk wasn't long.
Breakfast was great and staff was helpful and frendly. Room was tidy.
the hotel was perfect by all means. it was extremely well designed and we loved the room. all the tiny little details made it perfect. and the excellent service made our stay even better than expected. everyone was very helpful. will definitely stay here when visiting Mallorca next time.
Breakfast was delicious. The situation of the hotel in the middle of the old town of Palma was ideal - you could walk everywhere easily. The staff were the best ever! So helpful and always with a smile. Loved every minute of my stay here!
The property is a beautifully restored merchants palace in the old town of Palma. It is an oasis of calm relaxation in a busy city. A perfect escape!
The hotel staff are very friendly and highly professional - always ready to help and advise.
Hot was very clean and quiet, beautiful rooms with excellent view. The staff at the hotel was the very BEST hospitable, friendly, professional, knowledgeable. my husband and I absolutely loved it. we could not hope for more.
distinguishing and dirty
here is what we did not like never seen such a horrible hotel
should not be 4 star
2 star at best
the staff was kind and location good but I am still disgusted by how run down and filthy it was
Beautifully decorated boutique hotel. The breakfast options were great. The location very good for buses towards the old town or nearby beaches... The bus stops very close to the hotel along the same street.
Reception staff brill! Breakfast amazing...chef Samuel's made to order omelettes were outstanding....great free bus every morning into Palma... cannot fault this hotel... highly recommend 5 stars ⭐
The best 5 star hotel we have ever visited. The staff were incredibly helpful, the location is perfect, the room was big and had everything we needed. We had the best visit.
Lovely hotel, perfect location to reach all areas of the inner city of Palma, including marina, beach and old town. Lovely staff, and all very stylish.
