Japanese-style rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding, while Western rooms come with beds and a sofa. All rooms all soundproof and air-conditioned, and fitted with a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an attached bathroom.

Food - amazing spread of meals. Staff - attentive and polite. The service exceeds expectations. We were treated like VVIP Location - beautiful landscape and close to convenience shops and Daiso Room - very clean and spacious. The pillows were so comfortable. Our neck pain from the previous hotel's poor bedding went away after our first night stay. They use the maruhachi pipe and feather pillows. The massage service is very reasonably priced and great masseuse. I had sprained ankle for a week and after the massage it almost gone away. Not sure what he did but quite different to remedial massage. Soothing, relaxing, minimal pain with maximal gain. The most relaxing massage I had. Onsen - great. Private onsen available at a cost. Our toddler was a bit upset when we were checking out. The staff gave him a little soft toy. Very nice touch though we don't expect anything from them after the amazing stay . Great souvenir shop featuring local crafts.

The air-conditioned rooms come with Japanese Yukata robes, a fridge and a seating area with low tables and cushions. Guests can choose to stay in rooms with Western-style beds or in rooms with Japanese futon bedding and tatami (woven-straw) floors. Firstly getting picked up by the hotels bus/van at the train station was EXTREMELY Convenient. They loaded all our bags and even loaded them in carts at the hotel to bring to the front desk. Check in was quick and they brought the bags to our room and showed us what the room had to offer. My Wife and I had the Deluxe Japanese Style Room with the balcony that had a private Onsen tub outside the room. The place was beautiful with the room clean and very spacious! The Balcony has a beautiful view of the Lake and the Onsen Hot tub was hot and relaxing! They had a variety of Yukata to wear and free drinks on the first floor. We went outside on the first floor veranda to enjoy the night air. We saw some kittens playing on the premises which was a great bonus! Then we had our special Kaiseki dinner, which was great! Course after course went by and the food was great, especially the local Omi Beef! Then we went exploring the area and checked out the "library" where we just relaxed and had complementary snacks and drinks. Then the foot pool and the public Onsen on premises. We got a couples massage after and went back to the room to relax and soak in the private Onsen again. The next morning we had a buffet breakfast with all the normal fare, but also some unique Japanese choices such as fish to grill on the grill, curry rice, and Onsen Tamago(Egg). Checking out was easy and the ride back via bus from the hotel was much appreciated!

The Japanese-style rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with modern furnishings and futon bedding. Each room features a private bathroom with a bathtub made of Cypress wood, filled with hot water from the local hot spring.

Beautiful ryokan with a rotenburo that overlooks Lake Biwa. Dinner course had some very special dishes unlike other ryokans and plating was beautifully done. Would highly recommend this place.

Real way of Japanese life with an Onsen for bathroom with Japanese people, living like them. Eating exactly like them. Wearing the yukata. The shuttle to go to the station, the vintage of the hotel, the free power plate. I want to go back.

Set in Kyoto, 3.4 km from Shoren-in Temple and 3.8 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, 金閣荘 offers accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace.

Eikan-do Zenrin-ji Temple is 3.8 km from the ryokan, while Heian Shrine is 4.2 km from the property. The nearest airport is Itami Airport, 50 km from 金閣荘.

This is a wonderful place. The garden is old and exquisite, and while the house is traditional and quaint, it has a fully-equipped kitchen, modern toilets and comfortable baths. While it's a bit of a walk up the hill from the Misasagi subway station, the neighborhood is pretty, and there's a canal in a park. There's also a small grocery store right by the subway station, and it offers whatever a traveler might need for a decent meal or a pleasant bath.

Wonderful experience that i've had with very friendly and comunicative staff and authentic amenities. We've tried the japanese bath, the dinner and breakfast and everything was just splendid. Also the location was very good, within walking distance from Gion and Higashiyama (approx 20 min)

What’s not to like… we had the best room in the ryokan, super spacious room, had a huge bathroom, shower and a private open air onsen. We had a living room and a bedroom, the space we had was probably bigger than our apartment back home! Dinner and breakfast was beautifully presented, I literally was so relaxed I lost myself there. Wish I booked it for more than one night!

I love that you provide halal food for both breakfast and dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the spread! Love the small supermarket and yukata provided to us. Love the view of Lake Biwa from our room and the spaciousness of the room. We were delighted that there is a private onsen in the room too.

Check in was right on time and shuttle pickup was smooth- journey took about 5 min from ogotoonsen station. We requested for halal meals and were very pleased with the array of traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. The private bath in the room was great too with a beautiful view of the lake. We loved the tatami and futon prepared carefully and the facial wash, toner and moisturiser included in the toiletries 🥰

Very wide studio room with amenities just enough for travelers. But get your own toiletries- toothbrush and paste, etc. The room was clean and no bad odors. The futon and sleeping sheets were clean and comfortable. I had a very good sleep after a long day of hiking. The building also offers an onsen for guests for free (I didn't try, so can't comment about it). The staff at the lobby was very accommodating, polite, and helpful. Thank you very much!

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, great service and so much food. The onsens were also lovely. The room was great, had good amenities, and information available in several languages - which was helpful. As a solo traveller it was great to be able to experience a ryokan - as many don't allow this

We specially arranged the Ryokan experience for mum, we enjoyed the aircon room with bathroom and private onsen, we chose our Yukata and wore it for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was the highlight and it's sumptuous! It's contradictory to me that this nice Ryokan is run by bunch of young people when most of my Ryokan experience was interacting with elder.
